Our Conference Co-Chairs: Tim Barefield, COO PERSHING SQUARE CAPITAL MANAGEMENT Tim joined Pershing Square Capital Management in September of 2006. His focus at Pershing is all aspects of operations and compliance for this nearly four year old Hedge Fund. Prior to joining Pershing Square Tim was the CEO of GiftCertificates.com Inc., a leading online consumer gift card and corporate incentive program management company. Prior to joining GiftCertifcates.com Tim was the Vice President of Human Resources for Swissotel and Accor North America, both international hotel chains. Tim received his A.M. in Psychology from Harvard University in 1997, his MBA from Rockhurst University in 1987, and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1983. Tim enjoys participating in all sports, including tennis, golf, running, and table tennis, and was marginally talented at best in any of them at his peak, but is now well past his prime Christopher Addy President & CEO CASTLE HALL ALTERNATIVES Christopher Addy is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Castle Hall Alternatives, the largest, dedicated provider of operational due diligence to institutions, fund of funds, endowments and family offices. Chris is one of the industry's most experienced due diligence practitioners, having completed his first due diligence review in 1997. Chris was previously Principal and co-founder of Amber Partners, a Bermuda company providing operational certifications to hedge fund managers. Prior to forming Amber, Chris was Senior Vice President of UBP Asset Management (Bermuda) Limited (2001-2004), where he supervised a team of analysts responsible for operational due diligence on a large number of hedge funds and administrators. From 1997 to 2001, Chris held the position of group financial controller of The Atlantic Philanthropies, a multi-billion dollar foundation, where his responsibilities included operational due diligence across a significant investment portfolio. He began his career as an auditor with Deloitte in the United Kingdom before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in Bermuda in 1994. At PwC, Chris gained broad exposure to the offshore hedge fund industry, becoming lead manager in the firm's investment company audit group. Chris holds a BA in economics and history from the University of Durham, England. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. He is also a CFA (chartered financial analyst) charterholder and a member of the Montréal and Bermuda CFA societies.
